The Social Enterprise Division of the HBS Club of NY is committed to furthering the mission of the HBS Social Enterprise Initiative by providing a wide range of programs for the New York area community.

Community Partners Pro Bono for Nonprofits, powered by HBS Alumni Consulting

Community Partners connects local nonprofits with HBS alumni volunteers who provide pro bono consulting teams tackling challenges ranging from financial sustainability, earned revenue, marketing, finance, organizational growth, board development and strategic planning.

Approximately 200 HBS alumni volunteer each year for 40+/- projects including single session Brainstorming and Consulting projects lasting 3-4 months.

Skills Gap Initiative Innovative Workforce Development Programs in NYC

The Skills Gap Initiative (SGI) is a team of HBS alumni volunteers developing innovative workforce development solutions, currently focused on  healthcare and technology employment and on new concepts in educational funding structures.

Our team partners with community colleges to provide educational offerings to prepare selected students for employment markets where the demand for skilled workers far strips the supply of people with desired skills.

In addition, our team works closely with employers in medical facilities and with the the NYC government, creating programs that help both people lacking the needed training.

This program stems from the HBS Competitiveness Initiative.

Events Forging Connections and Fostering Lifelong Learning

As part of our commitment to supporting the vitality of NYC’s social enterprise community, our alumni organize HBSCNY events throughout the year that focus on topics of particular interest to the nonprofit and for-profit social enterprise community.

Events include speakers,  panel discussions and small group gatherings to discuss a particular topic.

We encourage alumni to suggest events and get involved!  Please contact Cori Floyd (cfloyd@hbscny.org) with suggestions or to get more information.
